What is WIC?

WIC means Women, Infants and Children
WIC is a supplemental food program funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)
WIC provides healthy food at no cost to those who qualify
WIC provides nutrition education and counseling to teach healthy eating
WIC provides breastfeeding support
WIC provides referrals for health care and other services

 

Who is eligible?

Pregnant women
Breastfeeding women up to 12 months after delivery
Women with a baby less than 6 months old
Infants and children up to age 5 years old

 

How do you qualify?

You must meet the federal income guidelines
You must have a nutrition or health risk
