Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department's emergency preparedness mission is to protect the health and safety of residents in Franklin and Williamson counties by eliminating/reducing the spread of disease and illness as a result of natural or man-made causes.

In daily practice and/or during times of emergency, we do this by:

  • Investigating/Monitoring disease and illness
  • Providing emergency medicine/vaccinations to the public
  • Limiting exposure to infected persons
  • Inspecting/Advising food establishments in food safety matters
  • Working with local/State/Federal emergency response and health agencies 
  • Educating the public in ways to protect their health and prepare for emergencies
  • Facilitating special needs planning within our jurisdiction
  • Conducting public health emergency response exercises
